Architectural company Pargade Architectes is leading a consortium overseeing the project’s execution.

The construction is planned to span 45 months, during which the hospital will continue to operate as normal. The scope includes a seven-storey building covering 58,000m².

Once completed, the new facility will provide 498 beds along with reception and diagnostic areas, medical platforms, an in-patient unit, a pharmacy, and logistics and technical control rooms.

The building has been named after Madeleine Brès, recognised as the first French woman to obtain a medical degree.

The new building will primarily support medical activities focused on chronic diseases and neuroscience. It is designed to connect with existing buildings, ensuring seamless movement and integration across the site.

The broader New Reims Hospital project aims to enhance the healthcare services provided by the CHU, with development plans including upgraded equipment and improvements for both outpatients and inpatients.

VINCI previously participated in the development of the first building in the New Reims Hospital complex.

According to the company, this contract reflects the VINCI Group’s continued engagement in healthcare infrastructure projects across France.

Ongoing hospital projects involving VINCI include the “New Lariboisière” building for Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris, Hôpital Métropolitain de l’Artois in Lens, the new CHU in Nantes, and reconstruction efforts at Chaumont hospital, the Caen CHU, and Hôtel-Dieu hospital for AP-HP.

Last month, VINCI Construction’s UK arm acquired ION Property Group, a regeneration developer, for an undisclosed sum. The company intended to merge ION with its VINCI UK Developments division to create a new business called ION Developments.
