The joint venture (JV) between Lane, the US subsidiary of Webuild Group, and Superior Construction has secured contracts totalling $643m to construct the Westshore Interchange in Tampa Bay, Florida, US.
This initiative marks the largest infrastructure undertaking by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in the region. Construction has commenced on one of Florida’s busiest roadways.

Previously, in 2023, the joint venture, with equal ownership between Lane and Superior Construction, signed a $10m contract for design services, which paved the way for these new agreements.
The project’s phased development involved extensive collaboration with FDOT, resulting in a design focused on enhancing infrastructure value and meeting community needs.
The Westshore Interchange aims to modernise key routes, including I-275, SR 60, and Veterans Expressway, thereby improving safety and traffic capacity to accommodate regional economic growth.
Features of the project include new elevated ramps for access to Tampa International Airport, wider lanes on State Road 60, and enhanced infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians.

Recent contracts also include widening I-85 in North Carolina and enhancing a section of I-75 in Florida.
In 2024, Lane secured a $190m contract for a highway interchange between Interstate 4 (I-4) and State Road 33 (SR 33) in Polk County.
The company was also awarded a $102m contract in 2023 for designing and partially rebuilding the intersection of I-4 and Apopka-Vineland Road in Orange County.
