UK construction and property services company Willmott Dixon has been awarded a contract to deliver a £30.5m ($41.09m) custody suite for Derbyshire Constabulary in Chesterfield, England.
The facility will include 36 cells and will be located on Dunston Road.

The plan for the custody suite covers related support accommodation, ground enhancements, drainage, external works, and car parking within a 4,732m² site.
Derbyshire Constabulary assistant chief officer Andrew Price said: “This new custody suite represents a significant investment in our operational capabilities. The modern facility will provide our officers with the modern and fit-for-purpose working environment they need to serve the communities of Derbyshire effectively.”
The project has been procured through the SCAPE Construction framework.
Construction is set to start this month and finish by June 2027.

Earlier this year, Willmott Dixon secured other emergency services projects, including the £55m redevelopment of Hertfordshire Constabulary’s headquarters and the £18m Pendle Police Station project for Lancashire Constabulary.
The company reported profit before tax growth to £46.8m in 2024 and group revenue of £1.2bn. It reported a record £1.3bn in contract awards in the fiscal year, and the company’s construction segment posted a £1bn turnover.
Last week, Willmott Dixon was named preferred contractor for a new sports and leisure facility intended to replace the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Brighton.
