Beijing has released plans to boost it’s subway by another 140km. The first section, called the Number Five Line when completed will stretch 27.7km from Songjiazhuang in southern Beijing’s Fengtai District to Taipingzhuang in the city’s north. The extensions are necessary to cope with the city’s 10M metro users per day.
