Landprop, a subsidiary of the Inter Ikea Group, is planning to build Strand East, a 26-acre mixed-use project in Stratford, east London, to the south of the Olympic Park.

The mixed-use development will incorporate 1,200 new homes, 480,000ft2 of offices, a 350-bedroom hotel, and local shops, cafes and restaurants set within distinct zones linked by car-free, landscaped walkways.

Around 40% of the properties in the development will be three-bedroom homes; the project also includes courtyards, a public square, a school, a health surgery and a nursery.

Landprop expects to submit a planning application to the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation in early 2012.
