GLP has commenced construction of a new energy-efficient warehouse development near the eastern border of Warsaw in Poland.  

The company is a builder, owner, developer, and operator of logistics real estate, renewable energy, data centres, and related technology. 

Spanning 37,000m², the GLP Warsaw VI Logistics Centre will be located on the main thoroughfare connecting Eastern, Central, and Western Europe adjacent to the A2 motorway junction. 

It is expected to offer access to a potential customer base of more than five million individuals in Warsaw and the wider Mazovia region. 

The project aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by incorporating heat pumps, smart metering systems, and enhanced insulation, with the building's roof designed to accommodate photovoltaic panels.

GLP will employ circular economy practices in the construction of the Warsaw VI Logistics Centre, using materials with proven reduced environmental impact.  

This includes the use of recycled materials and sourcing supplies from local vendors wherever possible. 

GLP business development manager Magdalena Górska-Wojtas said: “Energy efficiency is one of the key considerations in all our discussions with clients on the operational costs of logistics buildings.  

“The project will free building operations from any dependence on gas prices while moving us closer to our goal of developing zero-emission buildings.” 

The GLP Warsaw VI Logistics Centre is being designed to achieve the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology's 'Excellent' rating.

Construction is anticipated to be completed in the second half (H2) of this year.
