Egis, along with its consortium partners Amentum, SETEC Nucléaire, and Tractebel, has secured a contract extension for the Sizewell C nuclear project in the UK.  

Located on Suffolk's east coast, the project involves the planning, design, and construction of two European Pressurised Reactors (EPRs) to bolster the UK's energy supply.  

The ICOSH consortium will continue applying its nuclear engineering knowledge to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. 

In this phase, the consortium's scope expands to include the detailed civil design for 12 nuclear island buildings, which are essential components of a nuclear power station.  

These structures encompass the reactor, fuel, and safeguarding elements.  

Since 2020, the consortium has supported the project, leveraging experience from Hinkley Point C for geotechnical assessments and replication studies. 

Recently, the consortium has been assigned the responsibility of designing the common raft and prestressing gallery.  

The Sizewell C project will feature two EPRs using designs developed during the Hinkley Point C construction.  

This standardised approach follows Hinkley Point C's designs, avoiding the creation of a new reactor design.
