Winvic Construction and St Modwen Logistics have announced the commencement of work on the first phase of St Modwen Park Derby, an industrial park in Derby.

The new 67-acre business park will be located off the A52 and near the junction 25 of the M1.

For the first phase, Winvic will construct four modern industrial units along with office space in less than ten months.

The company’s scope of work under the contract involves cut and fill works at the project site to enable the development plots.

It will also construct 800m of new road infrastructure and natural landscaped area of more than 20-acres.

Winvic Construction’s project delivery includes design and construction of the four buildings, Units D39, D54, D79 and D131, which are scheduled to be completed in phases between July and October this year.

Activities under the project also include mechanical and electrical installations, drainage and service works, creation of related roadworks, substantial landscaping, and service yards.

Winvic project manager Adam Broadhurst said: “Having partnered with St Modwen Logistics on a number of occasions, we already have a great relationship with the company, and we work very well together as one team, focusing on the end result.

“This, four-warehouse project in Derby will be delivered in quite a short space of time, but the rapid build illustrates Winvic’s ambition, our team’s experience in the infrastructure and industrial sectors and our exacting programme management skills.”

In December last year, the company and PATRIZIA conducted a topping out ceremony for the first phase of a build-to-rent (BTR) project in Birmingham, UK.
