The combined regeneration of Gascoigne East, worth $187.6m (£135m), is known as ‘E2’, ‘F1’ and ‘F2’. It will create 382 new homes, of which 57% of them will be affordable, and will include public realm open space.

The ‘E2’ development, worth $77.8m (£56m), will see construction of 159 homes as part of the regeneration of Gascoigne East. It will connect four blocks with a courtyard situated between them.

The ‘F1’ and ‘F2’ development, worth $109.8m (£79m), will see 223 new homes constructed across five blocks along with public realm space and infrastructure for residents.

Willmott Dixon has now started constructing the $30.57m (£22m) ‘C1’ development, as part of Phase 2. The block includes 52 affordable homes and extensive infrastructure.

The company stated that the redevelopment of Gascoigne estate is part of a wider strategy to create a place that includes public spaces and the 5,000m2 of Gascoigne Square park.

Be First commercial director Iain Ferguson said: “It’s great to continue working with Willmott Dixon on the next exciting phase of our pioneering redevelopment of the Gascoigne neighbourhood.

“The new Gascoigne will provide quality homes at rates ordinary working people can afford and will be one of the most healthy, sustainable places to live in east London.”
