William Davis Homes has submitted a plan for construction of up to 500 homes in Leicestershire, UK.

The plan features land at Anstey in Leicestershire, with most of the area already been earmarked for development in the Charnwood Local Plan.

It also includes a community hub, public parkland and land for a new primary school in addition to the new housing.

William Davis Homes development director David Dodge said that the proposed scheme is one of the many that the company is planning to progress in the Charnwood area over the next few months.

The borough has a target of constructing around 18,000 homes by 2037.

David Dodge said: “We have been proud to be part of Charnwood’s development landscape since 1935.

“Whilst we develop our award-winning schemes throughout the Midlands, the majority of our 400 employees, our apprentices and for that matter our supply chain is based in Charnwood.

“Therefore, it’s only natural for us to continue to invest in creating local jobs, to buy materials locally and to meet the housing demand of the communities within the borough.”

The plan features a range of house types, including two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom properties along with affordable homes.

Additionally, William Davis Homes has also submitted two planning applications – with one being a detailed application for land at Manor Farm and Rectory Field, and another being an outline application for land at High Leys dovetails.

At Manor Farm and Rectory Field, the proposed plan includes construction of about 150 new homes.

About 350 new homes will be built at High Leys dovetails, along with a new primary school and playing fields.
