Construction and civil engineering firm Veidekke has secured a design and build contract worth $15.12m (NOK132m) from Asker municipality to construct Søndre Borgen Helsehus at Borgen in Asker, Norway.

Located to the west of the current health building, the facility will be a new, detached health building for 40 residents situated near the existing health building at Borgen.

With total gross area of around 4,700m2, the four-storey building will include exercise room, a therapy room, residents’ room, wardrobe facilities for employees along with many other support function rooms for residents, relatives and employees.

An eco-friendly and efficient geothermal heating system will also be installed in the new building.
Construction work on the project is scheduled to commence this October with completion planned in August 2023.

Recently, the company won $69.65m (NOK608m) to build new Majorstuhjemmene nursing home in Oslo, Norway.

Work on the project involved demolition of the existing structures and construction of a new, environmentally certified nursing home.

The 16,000m2 nursing home will comprise 120 nursing home places include elderly day care, a café, a library, conservatories and sensory gardens both on the roof and in the courtyard.
