Arcona, a subsidiary of Scandinavia’s largest contractor Veidekke, has been commissioned to construct two school buildings, and also to make moderations to the premises of Sundbyskolan in Spånga, outside Stockholm, Sweden.
Arcona’s client is The Stockholm School Properties Company, SISAB.

Worth about SEK145m ($16.95m), the execution contract project starts work in April and is expected to be complete by December 2023.
Built in the 1950s, Sundbyskolan will now be remodelled as per today’s standards and needs. The school’s capacity will also be increased from 821 to 1,200 students.
The construction of two new buildings will be undertaken: –one to accommodate grades preschool through third and the other, to accommodate grades seventh through ninth.

Apart from this, Arcona will make moderations to the existing buildings, with the lunchroom and commercial kitchen being renovated and expanded to accommodate more students.

Arcona’s recent works include the completion of Framtidens förskola Blågull in Hässelby and a comprehensive renovation of Östra Real upper secondary school.
Currently, Arcona is executing two more construction projects for SISAB – Skanskvarnsskolan in Årsta and Vasa Real upper secondary school at Odenplan.
