Veidekke has secured a contract to construct the first phase of the Kobberkvartalet housing project in Asker, Norway, for Ferd Eiendom.
The turnkey contract, valued at Nkr488m ($48m), includes 142 apartments, common areas, and a garage basement.
This phase marks the start of a larger development featuring 420 apartments in Vestre Billingstad.
The first phase comprises three buildings of five to seven floors, a common house, and the project’s basement.
Kobberkvartalet is claimed to be the final major residential development in the Vestre Billingstad area between Asker and Sandvika.
The centrally located building will include communal areas across multiple floors for resident use.
Apartments in the project range from 30m² one-room units to larger homes of up to 118m².
The basement will house a grease trap, workshop with shared tools, and a rentable guest apartment.
These facilities aim to enhance resident convenience and community engagement.
Construction is scheduled to begin this October, with residents expected to move in by early 2028.
Veidekke Bygg Oslo department manager Kaare Gilhus said: “We are proud and happy to have been chosen to build this great project at Billingstad in Asker.
