Four architecture students from the University of Idaho (U of I) in the US have won a state-wide competition to design a new entryway for the 153-acre Ann Morrison Park in Boise, Idaho, US.
In TheEntryway Design Competition, Tyler Schram, Regan Campbell, Matt Vollendorf and Kelsey Ramsey from the university’s College of Art and Architecture won the first, second and third places, respectively.

As part of Idaho’s Ann Morrison Park renewal, the competition was spearheaded by the Harry Morrison Foundation (HMF) and the City of Boise.
The competition was open to any student enrolled in an Idaho university.
Harry Morrison Foundation board member Bonnie Wilkerson said: “For many years, it has been a dream of Harry Morrison Foundation board vice-president Judyth Roberts to set off Ann Morrison Park with a magnificent entrance.
“After a few concepts were presented to the HMF board, we came up with the idea of holding a competition for students.

Design professionals, the HMF board members, key project donors and representatives of the Boise City Parks Department and the Arts & History Department evaluated the entryway design proposals.
Later this month, Wilkerson plans to present the student designs on the park at the foundation’s annual board meeting, where their plan to proceed with the final piece will be decided.
The Ann Morrison Park features a spray fountain, bocce courts, disc golf course and horseshoe pits.
It also has an outdoor gym, sand volleyball court, Together Treasure Valley Dog Island, playground, tennis courts, lighted softball diamonds and soccer, among others.
