Real estate development company TWG has announced the construction of Residences at West Haven, a new senior housing project in West Haven, Utah, the US.

Situated at 1110 West Shady Brook Lane, the almost 38,000ft2, three-story property will feature 40 one-bedroom units that will be affordably priced for seniors aged 62 and above.

Besides reserving several units for local seniors with disabilities or suffering from homelessness, priority will be given to residents who are military veterans.

Currently, there is a nationwide homelessness crisis, and US veterans stand at a higher risk of experiencing it. By offering a stabilised and affordable environment, homeless or at-risk veterans will be able to return to self-sufficiency, stated the company.

The units are kept for seniors who earn between 30% and 80% of the area median income (AMI).

This $9.5m scheme represents TWG’s first property in Utah.

The scheme will provide several amenities such as a computer room, in-unit laundry, raised garden beds, on-site storage, bike racks and a community fitness centre.

Construction commenced this month, and the project is slated to complete in Fall 2022.

TWG acquisitions director Ryan Kelly said: “Residences at West Haven is an important project for TWG, and will offer local seniors more affordable living options in the West Haven community.”
