Tilbury Douglas has been appointed to construct four new school projects in the Midlands, UK on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE).

The four schools are the Heights SEND School in Smith’s Wood, Wednesfield Primary School in Wolverhampton, Stoke Special Educational Needs Disability (SEND) School in Stoke-on-Trent, and Elm Tree Primary School in Wednesbury.

The company stated that both the Wednesfield Primary School and Stoke SEND School will be constructed to the Passivhaus standard, aligning with the DfE’s aim for low carbon energy efficient schools.

The Elm Tree Primary School will be constructed adjacent to High Point Academy in Wednesbury.

High Point Academy is new SEND school recently completed by Tilbury Douglas in summer this year.

Tilbury Douglas Midlands Building regional managing director Simon Butler said: “Our track record of successfully delivering high quality educational facilities means we are best placed to lead on the construction of these four new schools, which will make a positive impact on the educational offering in the Midlands.”

The new facility includes diagnostic space, three additional theatres and a dedicated outpatient.

Tilbury Douglas has also delivered a new Special Education Needs (SEN) school, Halcyon Way, for children in Oldham, Manchester.
