New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) have selected Steiner Studios to develop and operate film and television production hub in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York.
To be built with an investment of more than $320m, the 500,000ft² film and television studio will create up to 2,200 permanent jobs and 1,800 construction jobs.

The project will be located on the Made in New York Campus at Bush Terminal in Sunset Park. It will include eight new soundstages, gut-renovations of two historic buildings, and a new parking facility with nearly 500 spaces.
NYCEDC has signed a pre-development agreement with Steiner Studios for a long-term ground lease.
In addition to providing over $320m in private investment, the City of New York has also agreed to contribute $15m towards site preparation work.

After completion, the project will create thousands of jobs for set builders, electricians, scenic artists, grips, propmasters, set dressers, hair and make-up artists and costume designers.
The investment will include the creation of new, offsite local programmes for high school students to train for jobs in the production industry and offer summer internship programmes, focusing on the areas of stage operations, lighting, grip and production facilities management.
