Real estate developer SRV has been appointed by City of Kangasala to construct the new Lamminrahka school centre in Kangasala, Finland.
The company stated that the school’s project management contract is worth approximately €27m.
The new three-storey school building will be constructed in Lamminrahka, which is a new residential area in Kangasala.
The 11,000m2 school centre will comprise day-care premises for 140 children along with school facilities for 665 children in zero to six grades.
It will have three blocky structures which will be connected by a two-storey hub.

By GlobalDataCity of Kangasala construction manager Merja Saarilahti said: “The Lamminrahka school centre is an important project for us. The school centre is located by the Lamminrahka square and pedestrian street area.
“It will serve as the centre of the entire Lamminrahka area. We’re pleased that an experienced contractor will implement the school centre project.”
SRV noted that solar panels will be installed on the rooftop of the new Lamminrahka school centre, which will use geothermal heat for both heating and cooling.
Construction work of the new school will commence with earthworks this month, with completion of the project planned for June 2023.
SRV Regional Units senior vice president Henri Sulankivi said: “We’re excited to be implementing a functional modern learning environment in Lamminrahka for the children and young people of this new residential area.
“We’ve successfully carried out many school projects, such as the Kurittula school in Masku and the Jokirinne learning centre in Kirkkonummi last year.
“This autumn, in turn, we’ve completed new school facilities in the Leppävaara district of Espoo and the Maunula area of Helsinki.”
