Swedish construction company Skanska to build a residential project in Gothenburg with an investment of $37.8m (SEK340m).

The project called Galleriet will be located Nya Hovås.

Overall, the company will construct a total of 116 Nordic Swan eco-labelled apartments, comprising tenant-owned apartments and condominiums.

In a statement, Skanska said: “Galleriet will be certified according to the Nordic Swan ecolabel, which means high demands on quality, environmental, energy and health aspects.

“The homes have lower energy use than the building requirements as well as higher requirements for chemicals and ventilation. All in all, this means a better indoor environment and a lower climate impact. The buildings will also be equipped with solar cells on the roofs.”

For Skanska, the project will be the fourth development in the region.

It will feature four houses comprising 116 apartments. These apartments will be divided into 102 tenant-owned apartments and condominiums.

Additionally, the project will provide penthouses with terraces, and the ground floor apartments will have higher ceiling with patios and a courtyard.

Skanska Sweden said that the condominiums are the company’s first residential development project with such ownership format.

The construction firm said that preparatory works are already underway, and the project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2023.

Last week, Skanska was contracted by the Stockholm Regional Council to build a new stage of metro in Nacka, Sweden.

Skanska will build a 1,200m long metro tunnel, as well as a platform area and two ticket halls for Nacka station.
