Construction company Skanska has signed several construction contracts for a range of projects in Norway, Slovakia and the US.

In Norway, the company said it is investing Nkr768m ($76.9m) in a residential development Løkeberggrenda in Bærum.

The construction contract for the project is Nkr373m. Skanska will add this contract to its third quarter 2025 Nordic order bookings.

The Løkeberggrenda development will include 58 apartments and 28 rowhouses distributed among ten buildings.

The company expects construction to begin in the fourth quarter of this year and to finish in the fourth quarter of 2027.

In the US, Skanska has signed a renovation contract worth $55m with a university in New York.

The renovation works will be carried out on the university’s 10-storey residence hall that is roughly 7,400m².

Construction on the residence hall renovation project is expected to commence in autumn 2025 and complete in 2027.

The company, in a joint venture with FlatironDragados, has also been contracted for the first phase of construction on the Airfield and Terminal Modernization Program (ATMP) Roadway Improvements Project in Los Angeles, California.

The contract has been signed with Los Angeles World Airports and is worth $323m.

Work under this project includes “bridge construction incorporating substructure components as well as the demolition and removal of conflicting structures”.

The company has already started construction works on the roadway improvements project and expects to finish in the fourth quarter of 2026.

In Slovakia, National Motorway Company has awarded a €261m ($306.31m) contract to construct a 9.6km D3 Kysucké Nové Mesto – Oščadnica motorway near Žilina.

The motorway project covers “one multi-level crossing, a rest area, 20 bridges, 14km of noise barriers, and full technical infrastructure”.

The activity on this project is projected to last for around three and a half years.

Last month, Skanska has signed an agreement with Longwood University to build a performing arts centre in Farmville, Virginia, US, which will replace the current Wygal Hall.
