Skanska has secured a contract with the National Highway Authority of Czechia to construct the I/12 Běchovice-Úvaly bypass, a project aimed at enhancing road safety and capacity near Prague.

The contract, valued at Kč 3.8bn ($172.9m), will be included in the European order bookings for the second quarter of 2025.

The company will build a 12.6 km, four-lane highway bypass, which includes 23 bridges and six multilevel crossings.

This infrastructure development is designed to improve the flow and safety of transit traffic in the eastern districts of Prague by directing it away from populated areas, thereby reducing environmental impact and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

The construction of the I/12 Běchovice-Úvaly bypass is set to commence in July 2025, with an expected completion date by the end of 2027.

This project is part of Skanska’s continued expansion in Europe, where the company is actively engaged in various construction, residential development, commercial property development, and investment properties.
