Rogers-O'Brien Construction (RO) has broken ground on the expansion of Southern Methodist University's (SMU) Cox School of Business, Dallas, Texas, in US

RO will finish around 157,000ft2 of renovation work of the current Joseph M. Wylie Fincher building, the Trammell Crow building and the Cary M. Maguire building.

The present buildings and underground linking spaces will see an expansion of a 63,000ft2.

Being a part of SMU's Ignited Campaign, this project, with its extensions and reconstructions, is expected to take SMU into the next century of learning, with more dynamic and combined learning spaces.

Major improvements to technology, ‘cluster classrooms’, and event spaces will be included in the updates.

For this project, RO stated that it has joined GFF, who is serving as the architect of record.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2024.

In April, RO was selected as the constructor of San Antanio ISD Smith Elementary School project.

The company is responsible for the revamp of the historic school building.

A new classroom space, visual and fine arts space, a kitchen, a new cafeteria as well a new outdoor courtyard will be built by the company.

LPA Design is serving as the architect of this 88,000 ft2 school project.
