UK-based developer CEG has launched a public consultation on the first phase of the residential development at the £400mKirkstall Forge development in Leeds.

The first phase of the scheme would deliver a total of 213 homes, including 77 houses offering three to five-bedroom family living. The homes are designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios.

Additionally, two apartment buildings are planned to be built just north of the River Aire. Each of the buildings is set over nine floors with upper floors set back.

Cartwright Pickard founding director Peter Cartwright said: “Retail and leisure facilities will also be available to residents as the ground floor of both buildings will feature commercial space, providing direct access to the Stitch Square and the riverfront.”

The two buildings, which are designed by residential architecture firm Cartwright Pickard, will provide 136 studios to three-bed apartments. It will also include 1,350m² of leisure and retail space on the ground floor.

CEG residential development head James Shimwell said: “As well as family housing, the proposals now include build for rent apartments which will bring new residents onto site very quickly, expanding the vibrant community at Kirkstall Forge.
