Havering Council in the UK has approved housing scheme plans for 1,380 new homes at Waterloo and Queen Street in Romford, Essex, UK.
The proposed scheme comprises more than 550 homes, which include one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, as well as 146 affordable homeownership opportunities, among others.

It will also comprise public open space with a village garden, bat and bird boxes and bug hotels while the buildings will feature green and brown roofs.
Wates Residential regional development director Hugh Jeffery said: “This scheme includes modern, energy-efficient homes, open green spaces for playing and relaxing and workspaces to promote flexible ways of living and working.”
The construction of the proposed housing scheme project in Romford is planned to commence at the beginning of next year.

The scheme is a part of the council’s 12 Estates regeneration programme in the London Borough.
Being developed in a joint venture (JV) with Wates Residential, the £1.5bn regeneration programme aims to provide 3,500 new homes over a period of 12 to 15 years.
This project is expected to double the amount of council rented housing while more than doubling the number of affordable homes.
The Havering and Wates joint venture has so far secured planning approval for both Napier and New Plymouth House in Rainham and Solar Serena Sunrise in Hornchurch.
With construction underway, the Napier and New Plymouth House is expected to be ready for occupation in 2022.
