Australian real estate firm Mirvac Group and Coombes Property Group have secured planning permission for the proposed mixed-use, residential-led development in Sydney, Australia.

Standing 270m above ground, the 505 George St. project is set to become Sydney’s tallest residential tower upon completion. The development was approved by the Central Sydney Planning Committee of the City of Sydney.

The project will feature 507 apartments, including luxury serviced suites and a rooftop restaurant and bar, while the podium includes a boutique cinema, retail, conferencing facilities, a childcare centre and a meeting room facility for the council.

The proposals will also include enhancing pedestrian connectivity at ground level by linking George Street and Kent Street, as well as improving the existing streetscape.

The project is being managed by Mirvac on behalf of Coombes Property Group, the landowner and developer of the project. After an international design competition, Ingenhoven and Architectus were chosen to be part of the project delivery team.

When completed, 505 George Street aims to become Australia’s tallest residential tower to receive a 5 Star Green Star Design as well as As-Built rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.
