Construction is expected to commence at the end of this year or beginning of next year 2022.

This new building is expected to be completed and ready by the summer of 2023.

The order will be booked in Q4 2021.

Last month, Peab secured a $41.7m (SEK365m) contract from Swedish Transport Administration to renovate Tingstad Tunnel in Gothenburg.

Tingstad Tunnel is said to be one of the important routes in the region that connects Hisingen and Gothenburg mainland area.

Built in 1968, the tunnel is used by nearly 125,000 motorists every day.

Peab region manager Berth Larsson said: “Peab has long and broad expertise in building and renovating heavily trafficked environments such as in the recently completed project of lowering E45 and building the new Gullberg Tunnel in central Gothenburg.

“Naturally we’ll bring all that experience into play when we renovate Tingstad Tunnel. We look forward to continuing our good working relationship with the Swedish Transport Administration and our other partners.”

Under this contract, Peab will be renovating the entire stretch of the 455m tunnel by replacing its wall and roof. It will also repave the entire road.
