Vodacom has secured a six-star green star SA rating from the Green Building Council of South Africa for its new Vodafone Innovation Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

The building, which is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2012, will be carbon neutral and powered by renewable energy.

The centre will house a team of experts that will devise energy efficiency solutions aimed at significantly reducing Vodafone’s global emissions, the company said.
