Steven Holl Architects has been selected to design a new visual arts building at Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania, US.
To be funded by trustee Benjamin Winter, the design will feature a glass-enclosed forum in the centre of the ground floor, which will allow pedestrians on the campus-side of the building to view Buchanan Park.

The building will form part of a new Visual Arts Quad and have a storm water reflecting pool.
Steven Holl Architects said: "We always try to shape a unique experience and our approach is the same with this project.
"We look to create something of this place, to inspire future students."
The four-level building will feature various studios spread around a central common area on the second floor.

By GlobalDataIt will also have film labs and a cinema-screening auditorium, as well as a lecture hall to support programmes in film, photography, and visual studies.
The third floor is set to feature classroom, office, and studio spaces for faculty and advanced students.
The building will span an area of 35,000ft², which is almost double the size of the existing Herman Arts Building.
