Cambridge city council has approved construction of a new £44m railway station at Chesterton, UK.
The planned station is expected to support economic development and improve accessibility to the area, which includes the Cambridge Science Park.

The station’s planning application had been forwarded to the city council by UK’s rail operator Network Rail.
Three new platforms will be built for the station, with each being fully accessible through a footbridge and lifts.
The station will also have spaces for retail facilities, a 1,000-space cycle park and a 450-space car park for passengers.
Development of the new station will be funded by UK Department for Transport.

By GlobalDataNetwork Rail will be setting-up the station in coordination with Cambridgeshire County Council.
This new-build, which is expected to facilitate 3,000 journeys a day, is likely to serve as an alternative connection point for commuters in north-east Cambridge.
UK Rail Minister Claire Perry said: "We are investing £44m in this new station to provide better journeys across Cambridge.
"It will ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity and boost the local economy. Today’s planning permission gives the green light for the start of construction and brings us one step closer to delivering these huge benefits."
Network Rail intends to make the railway station operational by December next year, and construction is expected to start later this year.
The rail authority has yet not decided on the name of the station.
Network Rail area director Helen Warnock said: "Cambridge is one of the fastest growing cities in the UK and this new station will not only help to meet existing demand but also unlock future growth.
"It will provide fantastic facilities for passengers and help take pressure off the main station and reducing congestion in the city."
