The 28,000m2 data centre is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification after completion.

NCC Construction Sweden department manager Mats Eklund noted that the building will require significant energy so the client has asked for rigorous environmental classification requirements to be imposed.

"We will be using virtual design and construction (VDC) methods throughout the project," Eklund added.

Construction work on the project is set to commence by the end of October and be completed in December 2012.
