The Howard Hughes Corporation is to develop and construct a baseball stadium in Downtown Summerlin shopping centre in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.  

To be named the Las Vegas Ballpark, the 10,000 capacity stadium will cover around eight acres just south of City National Arena, the National Hockey League practice facility for the Vegas Golden Knights.

The stadium will be the future home of the city’s professional baseball team, Las Vegas 51s, a member of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and an affiliate of the New York Mets. 

Howard Hughes acquired a full ownership interest in the team earlier this year.

The latest announcement follows a vote by the board of directors of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) approving a marketing partnership that gives the authority naming rights to the stadium. 

Las Vegas Ballpark is being designed by global architecture firm HOK and will also host civic, community, nonprofit and sporting events. 

Seating options to be offered by the ballpark include 22 suites, club seats, berm seating, party zones and decks, picnic tables, kids’ zone, bars and a pool beyond the outfield wall. 

Parking will be located on adjacent sites.
