Communications and information technology company Harris Corporation is planning to build a new $100m high-tech engineering centre on its Palm Bay campus in Florida, US.
The project, which has completed the initial design and approval phase, involves the construction of a six-storey, 450,000ft2 centre and is part of a broader modernisation initiative designed to foster engineering innovation.
The facility includes advanced innovation labs and collaborative work spaces and has been designed for maximum energy efficiency and sustainability.
Approximately 1,200-1,400 employees will be relocated to the new centre upon its completion.
Construction work on the project is scheduled to begin in mid-2012 and be completed in 2014.
