Construction has started on a 61-storey mixed-use tower at the historic Back Bay area of Boston, US.
The building, designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners along with Cambridge Seven Associates, will house a hotel and luxury condominiums.

The $700m tower named Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences One Dalton Streetis being developed by Carpenter & Company.
Planned to be built on a site between the Christian Science Plaza and the Prudential Center, the tower will feature a 211-room hotel at the buidling’s lower 18 floors, while 188 residential condominiums will take up the 36 floors above.
Henry Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners said: "The project allows us to consider once again how a tall building, together with the open space it frames, can respond creatively to the need for growth while showing appropriate respect for its historic urban setting."
The building will rise from a granite and glass podium containing the condominium lobby and the public rooms of the hotel. The tower will be designed as a soft triangle and covered in low-reflectance, high-performance insulating glass.

By GlobalDataArchitects will use glass-screened incisions in the tower’s surface to animate the building volume while accommodating operable windows on the condominium floors, which will include upper levels with balconies.
Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences One Dalton Street tower will be part of the master plan that includes a 27-storey residential building, 30 Dalton, designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and developed by Pritzker Realty Group.
The master plan also cites a 5,000ft² park designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates.
