Balfour Beatty has started construction on Wood Partners’ $100m mixed-use development at West Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta.
Work on the 369-unit residential and retail development, 33 Peachtree Place, involves building a high-rise and mid-rise apartment in addition to 20,000ft² of base-level retail space.
Wood Partners director Bennett Sands said: "Our goals for 33 Peachtree were twofold; develop a community that blends in seamlessly with the surrounding community and create homes that will appeal to a variety of different types of residents.
"The high-rise units will offer some of the best views in Midtown and the low-rise units will feature tranquil views of our 1/2 acre private park and the walk-up convenience ideally suited for pedestrians and pet-owners."
The 21-storey high-rise and mid-rise building integrates 39 studios, 196 one-bedrooms, 129 two-bedrooms and five top level penthouse suites.
Other amenities offered at 33 Peachtree Place include a resort-style pool deck, club rooms, a 1/2 acre private urban park and courtyard space, and more than 500 parking spaces.

By GlobalData"33 Peachtree features both active and passive amenity areas," Sands added.
"The elevated pool deck and clubroom will be a popular destination for residents looking to socialise or watch a game while the private park will be popular with the dog owners and residents looking for a quiet spot to relax."
Work under the project is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2016.
