Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions has been selected by Texas Woman’s University (TWU) to develop a new student housing community.
The new Residential Village Project is said to be TWU’s first major housing development since the opening of the Lowry Woods Community in 2005.

To be built as part of a public-private partnership on TWU’s campus in Denton, Texas, the new student housing project will have 875 students and contain classroom, fitness, exploratory learning and recreation space.
Hill & Wilkinson will lead the project’s design / build team in collaboration with project architect Stantec, according to the university.
The three, four and five-storey Georgian buildings at the Residential Village Project will feature pod-style living quarters with small-scale communal baths with private bathroom and shower stalls.
The project will also have residential amenities such as lounge spaces, study areas and community gathering places focused on the sophomore experience.

By GlobalDataTWU student life vice-president Monica Mendez-Grant said: “In recent years, TWU has used hotels and leased apartments off campus to accommodate our students.
“This new Residential Village Project will bring those students back to campus and create an environment for our sophomore students that does not exist today.”
Additionally, a 30,000ft² residential dining space will be built to serve all of TWU’s on-campus student population and Residence Life offices.
Ricca Design Studios will lead the culinary design efforts, TWU stated.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in February 2018, with plans for occupancy in August 2019.
