Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) has been chosen to design the luxury apartments that will be part of £400m redevelopment of Lord’s Cricket Ground in the UK.

The company has been contracted by project developer Almacantar to design luxury homes, a cricket academy, galleries, museum and shops at the cricket ground.

The architect has been preparing a plan with Almacantar, which won a contract from Lord’s owner Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) earlier this year to redevelop the north London ground.

Herzog & de Meuron had earlier prepared a plan for the redevelopment, but were replaced by Almacantar after the project was beset by problems.

The planning application for the redevelopment is not expected to be submitted until mid-late 2012.

Work will not start until after next year’s Olympics, when the cricket ground will be used as an archery venue.
