Newmarket Lane has secured planning consent for a two million square feet distribution warehouse at Wakefield Hub in Yorkshire, the UK.
The company is a joint venture (JV) between Henry Boot’s property development business HBD and Yorkcourt.
Wakefield Hub is a 200-acre industrial and logistics project that has been designed to be a prime location for industrial and logistics firms. It will provide access to the M62, M1 and A1 and is claimed to be one of the largest regeneration projects of its kind in the UK.
The work on the warehouse project will include construction of a new spine road through the scheme and extensive landscaping.
The planning approval allows the firm to begin site works on the scheme in May this year.
Upon completion, the warehouse is expected to create approximately 1,500 jobs.

By GlobalDataHBD managing director Ed Hutchinson said: “We are very pleased that the planning committee has approved the application for this latest development at Wakefield Hub – it’s brilliant news for Wakefield and is a huge vote of confidence in the city as a place to invest.”
Last year, UK-based construction and property development company Henry Boot signed contracts with Walsall Council and Homes England to deliver a £73m regeneration scheme in Walsall, West Midlands.
The project, named Phoenix 10, will be delivered by HBD in collaboration with Walsall Council and Homes England.
It will complement Henry Boot’s industrial and logistics offering, which currently makes up about 74% of the £1.4bn development pipeline. Phoenix 10 has prime distribution access to the M6 via Junction 9.
