NCC has been awarded a contract by Micasa Fastigheter to refurbish the Enskededalen block of service apartments in Enskede, Stockholm, Sweden.

The turnkey contract carries a value of around $27.67m (SEK250m).

A part of the Dalen 20 property, the Enskededalen block of service apartments was constructed in 1979.

This property was bought by Micasa Fastigheter in 2005.

Currently, health and social care facilities and homes for the elderly are being constructed at the site.

Micasa Fastigheter project manager Karl Frisell said: “Micasa Fastigheter has a long-term goal to provide safe, accessible and well-maintained properties. The Dalen 20 block is an extensive refurbishment project that must meet stringent requirements. We feel secure having NCC as our partner due to its solid experience in similar projects and previous project deliveries to us.”

NCC will be responsible for a complete structural refurbishment of the building.

The works include demolition, plumbing upgrade, surface renovations, replacement of windows and window doors, installations, roofing, and installation of solar cells.

It will also have to refurbish courtyards.

The total refurbishment area is around 23,000m2, with the aim of constructing 215 homes for the elderly.

NCC Building Sweden head Henrik Landelius said: “We are pleased that Micasa Fastigheter has once again decided to cooperate with us, especially for such an extensive and technically advanced project such as the total refurbishment of the Enskededalen block of service apartments. We will utilize our extensive experience and competence in this project. The refurbishment will start at the beginning of 2022.”

Construction of the project will begin in Q1 2022, with completion scheduled for the end of 2024.

The company will register the contract in Q4 2021 in the NCC Building Sweden business area.
