Swedish construction company NCC has secured a contract worth SEK400m ($47.1m) to build new electrical substation buildings for Värtan Station in Stockholm, Sweden.
NCC said that the order is a turnkey contract for Linxon, with Ellevio as the end customer.

The new project will be located near Värtan harbour and Norra Djurgårdsstaden in the centre of Stockholm.
The scope of work under the contract will involve the construction of two new power substation buildings covering a total area of nearly 18,000m2.
The company said that the new building is for Värtan Station in the Stockholm Royal Seaport (Norra Djurgårdsstaden) district of Stockholm.
To be built on the existing site in Hjorthagen, the project will be delivered in phases as the existing substation is demolished.

By GlobalDataUpon completion of the construction, Linxon will install two switchgears for both 110 kilovolts and 220 kilovolts.
Previously, the company has secured contracts for electrical AC substations for the Skanstull and Barkarby areas as part of upgrading the electrical grid in Stockholm.
Construction work, which will be completed in collaboration with NCC Infrastructure, is planned to commence next year and is estimated to take nearly five years for completion.
