Swedish construction company NCC has secured a contract worth about $45.9m (SEK400m) to build 164 residential units in Jönköping, Sweden, for municipal housing company, Vätterhem.
The construction of new residential units will be executed within the framework of the strategic partnership arrangement between the two companies that began in June 2018.

The project includes 120 rental units and 44 sheltered housing units in the Strandängen city district of Jönköping.
The 120 rental units will include studios to three-bedroom apartments, while 44 sheltered housing units ranges from studios to two-bedroom apartments.
The project will also include business premises, which will be built on the ground floor for shops, restaurant, and a gym.
NCC Building Sweden Business Area manager Henrik Landelius said: “We are building on the excellent cooperation with Vätterhem and have started the groundwork for our second joint project.

The company stated that the homes are designed according to Sweden Green Building Council Silver level.
The residential units are being designed based on high demands of energy efficiency, a healthy indoor environment with good ventilation and choice of sound materials.
Vätterhem property development manager Henrik Möller said: “Strandängstorget is Vätterhem’s largest new production project in modern time.
“With Lake Vättern as its closest neighbour and proximity to the centre of Jönköping, we, together with NCC, are creating a pleasant and vibrant city district, with attractive residential units and business premises.”
Ground works on the project has already stated with the new homes anticipated to be ready for occupancy in the autumn of 2024.
