Swedish construction company NCC has secured a contract worth SEK285m ($28.5m) from HSB Gothenburg for the construction of 135 tenant-owner apartments in Gothenburg, Sweden.
To be located in western Gothenburg, the apartments will form the HSB brfSannaparken block and are part of the new Fixfabiken residential area being developed in Majorna.

Fixfabriken is an urban development project in western Gothenburg where the Swedish housing developer HSB Gothenburg and Fastighets AB Balder have joined hands for the construction of four residential blocks to provide housing in the area between Sandarna, Klippan and Kungsladugård.
The project is part of BoStad2021, a joint project between the real estate industry and the City of Gothenburg.
As part of the contract, NCC will construct the apartments which will include between studio and four-bedroom apartments.

The apartments will feature a balcony or outside patio and can be accessed via eight stairwells in buildings ranging between three and ten floors, with underlying basements or garages.

HSB Gothenburg new production and rental properties business area manager Kristian Isberg said: “Historically, we have had many projects in Majorna, so it feels particularly special to be back and playing a part in the development of the city district once again.
“It is an attractive area, and there are many people that want to live here, which is certainly noticeable from the large interest in the market for our housing units.”
HSB brfSannaparken is also expected to be environmentally certified under the Sweden Green Building Council, Silver level. This strictly demands low energy consumption, a healthy indoor climate and a good choice of materials.
NCC Building business area manager Henrik Landelius said: “Over the years, we have built many of HSB’s projects in Sweden, and we are pleased to be once again entrusted to work together to create more housing in Gothenburg. The common set of core skills held by HSB and NCC provides a sound basis for a successful project.”
Groundworks have started and will continue until this June. Construction is expected to begin this August and is anticipated to be completed in 2022.
