NCC has been awarded a contract by Mobile Industrial Robots and Universal Robots to build a new head office of wood in Odense, Denmark.

The value of this turnkey contract is around $48.6m (SEK450m).

Mobile Industrial Robots and Universal Robots, the two robot companies, will have a new shared head office in Odense – Cobot & AMR Hub.

Built with wood, the building will be approximately 20,000m2 in size.

For the construction of this wooden office building, NCC will be able to draw on its experience from the new office of the Danish Building and Property Agency in Odense.

NCC Building Nordics head Catarina Molén-Runnäs said: “In this project, we will have the opportunity to employ many of our skills, which also include construction in wood. We are now creating a dynamic office for two companies that are at the very forefront of their field. They will be moving into a top-class head office.”

Cobot & AMR Hub is being constructed to accommodate more employees. Its interior will be adapted to work with new robot technology and automation.

The three storied office building will feature generous open areas, large windows and wood for the load-bearing structures and on the walls.

Its construction will commence in April and the property is expected to be ready for occupancy in January 2024.

The company plans to register this order in Q1 2022 under the NCC Building Nordics business area.
