NCC, along with Sigtunahem, will build a new residential block at Sätuna torg in Märsta, Sigtuna Municipality, Sweden.

This turnkey contract carries a value of around $33.13m (SEK300m).

The construction of Stationshusen is considered as the ‘starting shot’ for the urban development being planned in the area next to Märsta rail station.

A new town square featuring a combination of rental units, tenant-owner apartments, commercial activities and services will come up here, stated NCC.

Construction will begin in Q1 2022 and occupancy will commence in late 2024.

The contract will be registered by the firm in Q4 2021 in the NCC Building Sweden business area.

NCC Building Sweden head Henrik Landelius said: “We have had a close, creative partnership with Sigtunahem throughout the entire project planning phase for one of Märsta’s key future projects. The construction itself has now begun, and we are looking forward to creating, in partnership with Sigtunahem, a vibrant urban environment with homes and services in a fantastic location close to all transport links in central Märsta.”

The firm’s assignment features building of 62 new rental units, 45 new tenant-owner apartments and 3,500m2 of commercial space.

These apartments, which will range from studios to three-bedroom units, will be built in line with the Sweden Green Building Council, Silver level.

The apartments will be built in a way to consume low energy, which inturn will enable low operating and maintenance expenses.
