Muse Developments and Stockport Council have submitted a reserved matter planning application to accelerate the delivery of the fourth phase of £145m Stockport Exchange development.

The council and the company have secured £4.2m funding from the government’s Getting Building Fund through Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

The next phase of the development will include construction of a 64,000ft2 grade A office building as well as 400-space multi-storey car park for office occupiers.

It will feature solar photovoltaics, electric vehicle charging points and a green ‘living’ wall.

To date, the three phases of the Stockport Exchange development have been completed. It included a 1,000-space NCP multi-storey car park, a 115-bedroom Holiday Inn Express as well as two office buildings totalling 120,000ft2 comprising retail space on the ground floor.

Upon the completion, the development will deliver up to 28,000ft2 of retail space, 375,000ft2 of Grade A office space, a 115-bed Holiday Inn Express hotel, a 1,000-space multi-storey car park, highway changes as well as substantial public realm improvements.
