Morrison Construction has secured a contract worth £41m from Hub South East Scotland to construct a new secondary school in Wallyford, Edinburgh, Scotland on behalf of East Lothian Council.
Due to planned housing development, the new secondary school facilities are required to accommodate the growing school roll in the area.

The project is part of the first phase of the Scottish government’s £2bn Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP).
The new facilities will include teaching and social spaces, a dedicated Science, a Tots and Teens area as well as a dedicated Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) centre.
They will also include new sports facilities, a day centre for older people as well as Community spaces.

By GlobalDataThe preparatory works have already commenced on site for the new building and the main works are set to begin in August this year with construction planned to be completed in June 2023.
Morrison Construction Building Central managing director Eddie Robertson said: “We are delighted to have reached financial close on the new Wallyford Learning Campus, a fantastic project for our partners Hub South East and East Lothian Council and the first to reach site through the Scottish Government’s Learning Estates Investment Programme.
