The 10, 000ft² low-carbon school will include several features to maximise efficiency and minimise wastage to improve sustainability.

The project will be built using the latest construction methods, including Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) to improve the building’s thermal performance and improve air tightness.

Construction on the project is scheduled to commence in spring 2021. The school is expected to open in time for the 2022 academic year.

Morgan Sindall Construction Northern Home Counties area director David Rowsell said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our strong partnership with our valued and longstanding client Buckinghamshire Council and procurement partners at the Southern Construction Framework following our appointment as preferred bidder on this key development.

“Kingsbrook Secondary School will enhance the educational provision available for this fast-growing community and create a high quality, energy-efficient building, in line with Buckinghamshire Council’s commitment to achieving zero carbon by 2050.”
