The Gun Lake Casino in Michigan has commenced the next phase of expansion that would see the addition of a hotel and a resort.

This $300m expansion will see construction of a 15-storey, 252 room hotel, along with a 32,000ft2 Aquadome with three pools.

One pool will be intended for adults aged 21 and above, a second pool for families, and a third pool for VIP guests wishing for a secluded environment.

Construction was initially slated to commence in the summer of last year.

Now, the tribal casino expects to complete the expansion work by March 2025. First guests are expected to be welcomed to the expanded project in late 2025.

This expansion is expected to transform the casino “into the entertainment destination of the Midwest.”

Located about 20 miles south of Grand Rapids, Gun Lake Casino is owned and operated by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians, commonly known as the Gun Lake Tribe.

The tribal casino finished a $100m revamp in mid-2021.

In April 2021, the federally-recognised tribe announced that it would undertake a $300m expansion project.

The present casino serves primarily as gaming-first facility.

As per the casino’s website, it has ‘loose slots’ in addition to dining and entertainment space.

The casino floor provides over 2,500 slot machines, 47 table games, and a sportsbook.

Now the tribal leaders are intending to diversify the casino into a full-fledged resort.
