
Hertshten Properties has selected Mace as the construction partner for the new 32-storey mixed-use tower at 85 Gracechurch Street in London, UK.
The project, situated in the Leadenhall Conservation Area next to the Grade II-listed Leadenhall Market, is a Woods Bagot architectural design.

It will replace a 1930s office structure with around 235,000ft² of modern office space, advanced facilities for cyclists, and a terrace offering expansive views.
Aiming to be one of London’s most environmentally friendly skyscrapers, this all-electric building strives to meet or surpass environmental benchmarks set by both the Greater London Authority and the city itself.
The goal is to achieve a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) Outstanding rating when finished.
The design incorporates energy-saving mechanical systems, extensive greening initiatives, natural ventilation solutions, and an automated cycle hub with 444 parking spaces for bicycles.

The project also includes restoring a walkway between Gracechurch Street and Lime Street Passage to enhance local connectivity and contribute to Leadenhall Market’s evolution into a lively hub open throughout the week.

Mace has now begun the pre-construction services agreement stage following a successful bid process.
The expected completion date for the development is 2030.
Earlier this month, Mace joined hands with Arup as programme management partner for Northern Metropolis, Hong Kong.
