India-based Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Power Transmission & Distribution Business has secured orders in India and the UAE.

These contracts have been termed as ‘significant’ as they fall within Rs10bn-Rs25bn ($130m-$330m).

The company’s renewable unit of the business has received an order to build a 245MW solar power project in Rajasthan, India.

L&T has also bagged another order to execute a solar photovoltaic cum storage project in Kutch district in the Indian state of Gujarat.

This large scale, grid interactive energy storage project will feature one 35MW (AC) solar capacity as well as a 57MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).

The business has won orders for supplying and constructing shunt reactors in 132 kV substations on a turnkey basis in Dubai, UAE.

Last week, L&T secured various contracts by its buildings & factories, and transportation infrastructure businesses.

The Railways SBU of L&T Construction’s Transportation Infrastructure IC was awarded an order for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work.

It secured this contract from Ircon International.

The contract involves 25kV overhead electrification, signaling & telecommunication, and related works for 549 RKM/678 TKM railway lines of the Northeast Frontier Railway.

An undisclosed global FMCG manufacturer also awarded L&T’s Factories Business of Buildings and Factories IC an order for design and construction of a food processing factory in Gujarat, India.

This order involves civil, structural, architectural and MEP utility works including external development works.
