Clarion Housing Group’s development arm Latimer and Countryside have secured reserved matters consent for the second phase of Ashmere in Ebbsfleet Garden City, the UK.

Ashmere is a modern village that is being constructed on the former Eastern Quarry, part of Ebbsfleet Garden City, Kent.

It is set to become a new sustainable neighbourhood comprising nearly 2,600 mixed-tenure homes, a new primary school as well as a village centre.

Slated to be completed in 2033, the project is being delivered by Clarion Housing Group and Countryside in collaboration with landowner Henley Camland.

The second phase of Ashmere includes construction of 235 new homes, with 25% of the homes having affordable housing tenures.

It will include houses and apartments, with private sale, shared ownership as well as affordable rent homes.

The Phase-2 of Ashmere will also include a neighbourhood green, landscaping and play area.

Countryside Partnerships South London managing director Andrew Usher said: “This is another key stepping stone in our journey at Ashmere, as we curate a sustainable and closely-knit community in a flourishing area of Kent.

“Working closely with Latimer, we have no doubt that Ashmere will prosper, serving the needs of the community for generations to come.”

In January this year, Clarion Housing Group secured planning permission from Kensington and Chelsea Council to renovate existing homes and public spaces on the Sutton Estate.

Work on the project includes refurbishment of four empty blocks comprising a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom flats designed to match the needs of local residents.

It also includes construction of 81 new social rented homes, most of them with balconies or terraces providing private outdoor space.
